A mix of wheel-away and built-in grandstands resulting in an ideal seating arrangement allow visitor numbers from approx. 1 000 up to 8 200 (seated) and approx. 3 000 to 12 300 spectators (without seats). This puts the Arena Leipzig at the top of the list for the city's largest event location.
The daylight venue is also well-suited for sports events - different ball sports, fencing, and tennis as well as dance competitions. For example, the Arena Leipzig is the home ground of the many times ladies German handball champion HC Leipzig. Besides, the hall is equipped with a specially-designed 200 metres circular race track for track and field competitions.
One reason for the variability of the Arena Leipzig lies in its multilayer floor construction. A mounted parquet can be installed on top of the spike-resistant track and field surface for a variety of ball sports. During concerts, conferences, conventions or company events, the floor is covered with a protective layer.
Located at the building's north side, seven production offices equipped with the latest in tele communication gadgets can be booked to ensure that the organisers are able to work behind the scene unter best-possible conditions. It is also possible to create a separate VIP area that offers an excellent view onto the action in the main hall.
