Besides accommodating the backstage facilities and a catering area for crew and artist, the lower ground floor offers several backstage rooms with the latest in sanitary facilities and separate entrances and exits into the main hall.
The comfortable changing rooms for the sports teams are also located on this level. If required, they can be made available for orchestras or choirs. Besides, the lower groud floor offers several storage rooms, a gym, a sprinter's tunnel that was built according to the latest research in sports science (four-lane 100-metre sprint tracks, a long and high jump installation) as well as a sauna. The sanitary area offers sufficient room for the medical care of the visitors or for doping tests during sport events.
The delivery of the stage equipment also takes places on the lower ground floor. The tour trucks can approach the Arena Leipzig unobstructedly to unload their freight in and out of two large rolling shutter gates into the main hall at ground level.
